RANDOM NOTIONS

  • We're getting ready for a garage sale this coming weekend. At first, extra money seems like a great idea. But then you start adding up how much work goes into it compared to the pay-off...is it really worth it? I certainly hope so.
  • I have a couple of things that I'm going to sell in the sale, but I don't really think I'm gonna make that much money off it.
  • I hope I get to go golfing when I go to Bridgeport. It kinda just depends on how much homework I have left to do that week since it will be my last week of school.
  • I unpacked the last of my boxes today from the move. I have way too much stuff...I could put it in the garage sale, but I'm not sure anyone else would want it. I could throw it away, but I'm not sure I can make myself do it. I'm not really a pack rat, but there are a few certain things I just can't bring myself to trash.
  • I have a 10 page marketing plan due before the 9th of July and I have no idea where to begin. This is one of the downfalls of online classes. If anyone reads this that might have some advice, please help. I'm not real sure what I'm doing.

RANDOM NOTIONS

  • Michael Jackson passed away last night. I didn't see that coming. However, I did see a report this morning that said it wasn't quite as unexpected as it seemed.
  • VH1 is doing a Michael Jackson Video Tribute. I wasn't exactly a die hard Jackson fan, but he did have a few songs that I liked. I think I liked his videos more than anything.
  • This has been a crazy week for deaths in Hollywood. MJ, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, and I think someone told me Walter Kronkite isn't doing so well.
  • My summer classes are kicking my butt. They're intense. I knew that online classes have twice as much work, but I think I forgot to factor in the length of the semester. Since it's a summer session, it's twice the work, crammed into four weeks. Not cool.
  • Took my nephew to see Transformers 2 on Wednesday. I'm going to have to go see it again. He's young, so I kind of expected a little bit of talking. But wow, he talked the entire time. And what I didn't expect was the TWO bathroom trips in the middle of all the action sequences. I have taken him to movies before and we didn't have this problem.
  • I also think that this Transformer movie was not as appropriate for younger viewers as the first one was. It had much, much more bad language, and as my nephew said, it's much scarier for young kids.
  • I almost got up and took him out of the theater. I thought he was going to cry.
  • I can't wait until August to see the GI Joe movie. I used to watch the cartoon. I kinda like these cartoon made movies.
  • I have been feeling like I've been neglecting my blog. But the last two weeks have been so busy that when I do get a moment at the end of the day, I'm just too beat to try and figure out something to post. And I don't see an end to the madness anytime soon!!
  • I'd better get back to my homework, or I'm never gonna get it done.

MISS ME???

It's been a few days since I've even seen a computer, much less had time to sit and type something. We have moved to our house in Leonard, but there is no internet there yet, so I am having to drive once a day back to Sulphur Springs to use the internet for my online classes. It doesn't leave much time for stuff like this blog. So, I promise to start posting again soon. Our internet won't be hooked up until Friday and I am going out of town until Sunday. So, I suppose, it will be Monday before I can really get back into it. I feel like I've been neglecting you guys. I'll catch up...it's a promise.

NOTIONS-THURSDAY

  • Another round of crazy storms hit North Texas last night. Have I ever told you guys just how terrified I am of thunderstorms? Some people think it's ridiculous, but to all those people, I KNOW there is something that scares all of us. My scary thing is storms. I'll deal with yours, you deal with mine.
  • They finally fired Miss California. I was wondering how long it would take them.
  • My dog is also scared of thunderstorms and everytime it thunders loud enough to wake her up, she jumps up growling and barking at it. I didn't get much sleep last night.
  • I wonder how many people have to be shown on tv being plucked out of their sinking cars before the idiots of the world will realize, "hmmm, maybe I shouldn't drive through this deep, rushing water crossing the road." I'm with Silicone Alley on this one, I think. Well, we should at least make them wait a few minutes to think about their poor decision.
  • Today, I announce that I officially HATE astronomy. My online lab is something straight out of the 80's computer generation. I might as well be working on a Commodore 64.
  • I think maybe I should have thought about it a little more before I signed up for an accelerated science class.
  • I just found out that the new house won't have the internet until the 19th. This is bad, considering I am required to log in daily for participation grades in both classes, and considering that the moving company is coming Saturday the 13th to move everything out of this house...meaning I'll be camping out in the old house, sleeping on the floor, no tv, no chairs, no dishes for food.
  • If I had my financial aid yet, I might take off to Bridgeport and just do my classes from there, but I don't get that until next wednesday.
  • I went to a little Mexican food restaurant last night called Molina's. I've been there several times before. It's located in Commerce, Tx, just behind the A&M campus. It has great food there, but last night I tried the Pechuga Milanesa. It was delicious. So, if you ever find yourself in Commerce, find this restaurant. I will warn you, the front part of it is a bar, so if you go at night, it might be a bit rowdy, but its safe.
  • I have to dring decaf tea today, since all the regular tea has been packed. I find it to be a little like coffee. If it's decaf, what is the point? Give me the good stuff.
  • Well, it's back to Marketing for me.

ZACH MORRIS RETURNS!!!

If you grew up in the 90's, you probably remember the show "Saved by the Bell." Late Night's Jimmy Fallon is pushing for a reunion and last night Mark-Paul Gosselar appeared on his show in character as none other than Zack Morris. It was funny and reminiscent all at the same time. Can't get the video to load so here is the link to the video on NBC's website.

NOTIONS-MONDAY

  • I HATE MOVING!!!!

  • Okay, now that I've got that out of my system...

  • Got my Astronomy I books today. Also logged into the online course for the first time today. All I can say is oh, my.

  • I hope the Marketing Class I'm enrolled in isn't as indepth as the Astronomy class is.

  • I have one more bedroom to paint in Leonard. Somehow, I have to paint it between the time the pest control guy sprays it, and when they start laying the carpet.
  • I still have a cold. I'm at that point where I don't really feel bad anymore, but I don't feel anywhere near good yet, either.
  • I'm not sure how often I'll be able to post now that my classes have started; which, really sucks, because, when I don't post, I miss being able to express my thoughts.
  • Going to see the Hangover tonight. My brother went to see it yesterday and decided that it was so funny that he wants to see it again, and he's making me go with him. (He's not really making me, but it makes me feel better about spending money I shouldn't).
  • My dog has been kind of whiny lately. I hope there is nothing wrong with her. Sometimes she just gets like that.
  • We're gonna start packing up stuff tonight, too. So far we've been moving stuff out of the storage building and garage. Now it's time to start moving the inside stuff. Can't wait for that (in case it doesn't come across, that's sarcasm)
  • I guess I'd better get to work on my school stuff now before I get caught blogging:)

Edit: Just got home from seeing "The Hangover." I have to say it's one of the funniest movies I've seen in quite some time. Those of you who know me, know that I am not into those comedies that I call "stupid funny." You know, where it's not really comedic, it's just stupid. People confuse stupid with funny alot these days, but not this movie. It was truly funny. I would recommend everyone go see this movie. Keep in mind, it is rated R and so if you are easily offended by foul language, nudity, or sexual content you'll probably want to skip out on this movie night. If you're not easily offended, I think you'll like it.

SINCE THEY HAVEN'T BEEN DAILY, LET'S JUST CALL THEM NOTIONS...

  • It's been a crazy two days, and the next week and a half isn't looking any better. I have been informed that the official move all our crap date has been set for the 13th. Two big burly men will show up and take everything we own to Leonard. One Day. WTF??? That's a week and one day away. Although, I must say how nice it is that someone else will be actually moving the heavy stuff...
  • And then I look around at all the knick knacks my mother has collected and I get BG's tired head.
  • On a daily basis I am amazed that people in the U.S. actually have the balls to call what they speak English.
  • I am really liking this new show on USA called Royal Pains.
  • I think my dog is insane. Are there test for that?
  • I think I'm starting to officially be over farm town. Maybe.
  • There is a Chinese Buffet that we ate at last night. It's the first Chinese buffet that I have ever visited that had hotdogs, french fries, and chicken nuggets.
  • I went to pick up my books today for the two classes I'm enrolled to take this summer. WTF???? Do they think college students have limitless money or what? For one book...ONE BOOK...it cost $169. Are you kidding me??? The other one that I need is only $128 (not much better) but the class also requires a companion workbook that cost another $20. That's over $300 for books for just two classes. What a rip-off!!! I have bought collectors series books cheaper than that.
  • Sorry...I just had to rant about that for a moment.
  • I am exhausted...it's off to bed for me...

DAILY NOTIONS-TUESDAY

  • I just read that the Bruno/Eminem thing at the MTV Movie Awards was somewhat staged. I don't know if Eminem knew exactly what was going to happen, but it was said that he actually consented to be part of the stunt.
  • Such a let-down.
  • I have to start painting a couple of the rooms in the house in Leonard starting tomorrow. While it is kind of a chore, I really enjoy stuff like that. However, there is no electricity or water at the house, so that is gonna suck.
  • The news this morning said that they found parts of the plane that disappeared this morning. That is so sad.
  • Apparently, there were two Americans on the plane. A man and his wife that had moved to Rio. The man was supposedly a geologist for Devon.
  • I watched part of a tv show on the tru tv channel last night called Repo Man. I don't know if I would do that for a living. Those people are CRAZY.
  • One of my guilty pleasure tv shows is TMZ. I know I shouldn't, but I love that show.
  • I'm trying to start eating better and exercising. I hate the word diet. It strikes fear in the heart of a food lover like me.
  • My dog is sooooo lazy. She wakes up around 8:30am every morning. I take her out to do her business and then she goes back inside, snuggles under my covers, and sleeps until after lunch.
  • Tonight is my night to cook, so I'm taking the easy way out. It's shake'n'bake...and I helped!
  • I likes me some Black Eyed Peas (the band not the food) but their new single "Boom, Boom, Pow" is kind of out there. I really like their older stuff much better.
  • I had two followers follow me on twitter trying to sell me something. I posted a tweet that said, "if you are following me to sell me something, don't bother." I promptly lost two followers. Funny.
  • There are several movies coming out this year that I can't wait to see. I guess I need to get me a movie buddy because my family is tired of going with me. A date to the movies would be better, but I'm not gonna push my luck. However, if you're interested you can reach me at.....haha, just trickin' ya.
  • No, really, I can't wait to see the sequel to Transformers, New Moon, GI Joe, Public Enemy, My Sister's Keeper...there are just too many....
  • My cousin is getting married tomorrow night and it's looking like I'm not going to make it. In case I don't make it to the ceremony, "Congratulations Anthony and Carra. I wish you guys the best of luck."
  • I have a wedding shower to go to this weekend, too. I still haven't been shopping for that.
  • Someone just invited me to play Farkle last night on Facebook. Man, that game is just as addicting as the Farm Town app. I'm going to have to give one up....I might need rehab.
  • I have a feeling this is going to be another slow week for the blog.

DAILY NOTIONS-MONDAY

  • The moving officially begins today. We are moving back to the house in Leonard. I know...you've probably never heard of it. I hadn't either until my mother moved there a few years ago. For those of you from Wise County...think Paradise...minus the stop light, but add a couple places to eat.
  • Watched the MTV Movie Awards last night. I'm 27 and still loved the Twilight Book Series. I liked the movies, but being the bookworm that I am, I liked the books much better. Don't get me wrong, I still can't wait until the sequel "New Moon" comes out in November. They showed the first "Sneak Peak" on the show last night...I think it has the potential to be better than the first.
  • How do you get the job of movie critic. I am sure that's my dream job. I am such a film fan my family and friends hate going to the movies with me. Anyone got a job opening for an inexperienced movie fan? I'm game.
  • I just watched the Prez speak about GM filing for bankruptcy this morning. That guy holds a press conference for EVERYTHING. I support the President of the USA, but do we really have to have a press conference every time he pees?
  • It has begun. Susan Boyle from Britain's Got Talent has checked herself into a medical facility for...wanna guess..."exhaustion."
  • I would like to stop hearing the debates on whether or not Adam Lambert is gay. So what if he is or isn't? The guy can sing his butt off. That kind of REAL talent doesn't come along often, so let's just enjoy the music.
  • I saw Night @ the Museum 2 Saturday night. It was funny. I know that many people haven't liked it as well as the first, but I liked it. Funny stuff.
  • My favorite part of the whole movie wasn't even a comedic moment. It was the part where Abraham Lincoln leans down and tells Stiller's character "A house divided against itself cannot stand." With presidential controversy at levels that I've never seen before, it kinda made me think. Americans should remember words from presidents past.
  • I've been thinking about starting another blog. I love to write, but I've always done it privately....never tried to publish it or anything like that...Maybe I'll write my next one in blog form, just to kind of gauge the reaction to it. This could be a good idea...or it could blow up in my face...don't really know.
  • Notions are kind of lacking today.

Edit: Forgot to mention....Dallas City Arts festival is scheduled for June 12-14. The Art Cars mentioned in one of my earlier post will be there on Saturday and Sunday. I encourage you to go see these vehicles. Plus, it's likely that there will be many more there than was in Eureka Springs, since Dallas is much larger and more accessible. Check it out!!!

BRUNO VS. EMINEM

You know...there are not many people in this world that scare me. And I'm not sure that I would be scared of Eminem if I met him. However, I would not consider this a smart move. Some might say it was scripted, but I think not, and here's why....

A. You can't tell from the video but when I was watching it live, Eminem yells, "Oh, F&$# No" and it was not bleeped. Considering all other profanity was bleeped during the night, I'm led to believe it wasn't planned...Not by Em anyway

B. The stunt was a lead in to an award given to Zac Efron for something like Best Male Performance...and even he didn't exactly realize they were giving an award because of the commotion.

C. You can't fake that level of anger. Not to mention, even though I love Em as a rapper, but come on, did anyone see 8 mile? I don't remember it winning any great acting awards. Sorry Em.

So in case you missed it, here's a video of the incident. It was funny...but at a certain point I wondered if this would turn into another brawl on live television and lead to further censur from the great tv leaders.
