IT COST MORE TO BE POOR

I found this story today about the true cost of poverty. I never really thought of it this way before. Maybe it's because I've never really considered myself as being poor, but I think this story sheds a different light on the subject.

It's quite lengthy, but you can read the story here.

A very good story and sadly it is true. I feel sorry for the poor who voted for Obama because he wasnt gonna raise their taxes. But now with the soda tax, smoke tax, food tax,cap and trade which will drive electricity prices thru the roof the poor will be hit even harder...makes u stop and realize maybe we dont have it so bad.

But technically if he creates a soda tax or a smoke tax he's not raising taxes. He's taxing a vice. It's elective and you don't have to participate. Depends really on what you are prepared to pay for the things you want.

After a certain point, eating does become a vice. It depends on whether you're eating for nutrition or eating for pleasure.
