FEAR NOT-- IT'S SHADOW HARE TO THE RESCUE

Does this make anyone feel safer? Or should we get out the straight jackets? What would you say?

While I would love to give you the link straight to their registry, I'm not sure they would like it, judging from the nice little warning posted on their homepage. However, the video tells of their registry so google it and you will be led right to it...it's quite interesting.

WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS SOONER.....

When I first heard about the swine flu, I popped off that I could design fashionable surgical masks so that we could practice prevention in style. I was clearly beaten to the punch. Plus, I'm not sure my imagination could extend to this...

UH....WHAT I MEANT WAS....

I just have one question for our dear Mr. President. Why the heck haven't you given your Vice Prez a teleprompter yet? He certainly seems to be in need of one. He can't seem to open his mouth without saying something absolutely ridiculous. Does he not know the impact of his words or what? Maybe he's just out of the loop and has begun to invent his own safety precautions against the swine flu? ...Excuse me...H1N1. I don't think the CDC or the WHO has said not to get on the subway or fly on a plane. As a matter of fact, I believe they said there is no reason to stop or limit travel in and out of the U.S. Get this man a teleprompter!!! Quick!!!

AMERICAN IDOL UPDATE

Alright, Adam Lambert fans unite. There is absolutely no reason he should have been in the bottom two tonight. But that's exactly where America put him. Let's not quit voting. We all know he should and probably is going to win, but we have to keep voting to keep him there. I'm not a fan of the jazz/big band week, either, but we've let him down. So from now on every Tuesday night at 8p.m. we all need to pick up our phones and call or text message our votes. Next week is Rock'n'Roll week, so it will be good. Don't forget to V-O-T-E. As many times as you're little fingers can dial. VOTE 4 ADAM.

FUNNY POEM....I LIKE IT

A Man Said to the Universe by Stephen Crane

A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."

It seems completely applicable....I'm just sayin'....

WHAT TO READ

I am about to have a month off from my college classes and I need to know what I should read. I have an ecclectic taste in books and will consider anything. I need some ideas....

SHE DID WHAT???

My mom used to tell my brother and I when we misbehaved in the car, "Don't make me pull this car over." I knew then that meant I was going to get a spanking. I'm almost positive my mother wouldn't have left me on the side of the road. And now, when parenting is so scrutinized by the public, and so many dangers lurk, who would actually consider leaving their children on the side of the road? And what's wrong with the Grandmother that let this happen? If your children misbehave, I, for one, believe there is nothing wrong with a good spanking. Take them home and discipline them. don't just cast them out on the side of the road. OMG!!

THAT DIDN'T TAKE LONG

Former Wise County poochie and New First Dog, Bo Obama, got his first book deal...well...sorta....He'll actually be the subject of a new children's book. I just can't get over the title either. It's kinda funny. It's to be called, "Bo, Commander in Leash." I think it's supposed to be out by the end of the month.

I JUST HAVE TO SAY....

I kinda have a problem with American families adopting outside of the US. I am completely in favor of adoption if you have the means and the extra love to go around. I have always thought of myself as someone who would love to adopt a child at one point or another in my life. And if and when I do, it will be from within the United States. I wonder why so many people like Angelina Jolie and Madonna go to other countries to adopt children when there are so many children in the US that could benefit from that generosity. I will never be angry with the fact that people have chosen to adopt, because that is an act of love that can't be duplicated. However, I just think people could do more good here in their own backyard, as well. I could list all kinds of statistics and numbers, but if you've lived in the US for any amount of time, you know the problem that's here. I don't know...maybe i'm missing something here, but I just had to say that.

YOU JUST THOUGHT YOU WON

People who win the lottery in North Carolina might have had something else in mind when their ticket matched the winning numbers. I'm not saying it's a bad thing...collecting back child support and student debt seems like an okay thing to me. Especially if it's delinquent. They do it with federal and state income taxes, so why not with the lottery? The only problem I might have with it would be taking the winnings from those who are making regular and timely payments already. If they are already being the responsible citizen by paying their debts, why take something they've won. Chances are someone that responsible will pay it anyway. What do you think?

FREE STUFF.......KINDA

Being a poor college student....this story kinda appeals to me. And I am sure in times of recession, it probably appeals to a lot of people. Now you know where you can get some free food at least....

Wait....What?

Eleven days ago, Casa Robles High School in Orangevale, California fired a cheerleading coach because she "turned up" nude in Playboy. It appears that some of the parents of attending students came forward and exposed the coaches extra curricular activities? I feel like it was unlikely that some of the students went to their parents and said, "hey, i just found my teacher in my nudie mag." So that leads me to believe that maybe it was the parents that found the pic. I am then intrigued enough to ask the question, "Why is it okay for you to be looking through a magazine like Playboy, but you get offended that this teacher has her picture in it?" I seriously doubt that she made that much money off her picture, so she probably needs her job. Therefore, I am inclined to believe that she probably wouldn't have brought it up for debate in her classroom. Do you think the students would have ever found out if the parents hadn't brought it to their attention? Maybe, but they wouldn't have told you about it. What do you think?

SWINE FLU

UH-OH....this could be bad

JUST SAYIN'......

I loves me a war of words. Nothing sparks change more than heated discussion of what should and shouldn't be. I get excited when people choose to exercise their rights to freedom of speech. Debate is healthy. Debate sparks change. I truly believe that without change, we as people, and we as a nation, will fail.

So, let me start by saying that I am a good, christian girl. I was raised in good 'ol Wise County, attending a local Baptist Church, all the while being instilled with a good dose of morals. I haven't always made the best decisions, but I have always found my way back to what I know is right.

I was also blessed with an open mind. I know that my way of thinking is not the only way. It is not necessarily the "right" way, but for me it works. I don't want to force my way of thinking on anyone, however, I have a right to say what it is I believe. That being said, so do you.

Recently, a famous celebrity blogger asked a very controversial question about gay marriage during the Miss America Pageant. I actually believe that both parties of this debate are in the wrong.

I believe that a person has the right to choose who they love. I have never been against gay marriage at all, and I don't want to be misinterpreted in that way. I happen to be a "straight" woman, but I have gay and lesbian friends. I support their choices in life, because it is who they are. It is not for me to judge. I don't force what I believe on them, and they do not force their choices on me.

I have a major problem with the way the contestant's answer to the question was recieved. She exercised her right to freedom of speech. She has that right to her belief, as well as, the right to speak about it. To that celebrity blogger who decided it was his right to post his tacky video in response to her answer, both of you showed a little ignorance. Maybe she could have answered with a little more compassion for those who might hear her answer, but she didn't. And maybe you could have responded with a little more dignity, but you didn't.

And don't think you're going to get out so easily, Miss California. Have you ever read the verse about not wearing clothing woven of different kinds of materials? Probably not. Either that, or you just ignored it. And how can you represent your faith properly by choosing to acknowledge parts of the Bible and not the Bible as a whole? If you want references from the Bible, I have one. Let those without sin cast the first stone. Are you perfect? Probably not. Don't use the Bible as your defense unless you can do so without looking hypocritical.

To both of you....keep talking. It give me something to rant about. My family hates it. I love it. I'm just sayin'....

On a side note, shout out to Boston Legal's ass for his post on the subject. I enjoyed it. Here's the link http://www.bostonlegalsass.blogspot.com/

FUNNY SIGN

A few days ago I saw a sign that was not only funny, it seemed somewhat applicable to the current economic situation. I just had to share it.

It read:

"Due to the gas, oil, and electricity companies raising their rates, the Light at the End of the Tunnel is temporarily turned OFF."

ITS BEEN A WHILE....

It's been two whole weeks since I've even looked at my blog. I have had so much to do and so much going on, that I didn't even time to think about it. It kinda felt like I have been around the world in 14 days. But, I'm back for a while and will be posting again soon. So if you actually read this, apart from saying thank you, I want to say don't give up....I'll make it good:)

A STANDING OVATION FROM SIMON COWELL

My favorite 'Idol' has done it yet again with his version of Tears for Fears "Mad World." He was great. I missed it live but watched a recorded version. Gosh, he's good. Check out the video below and watch it all the way through. SIMON COWELL gave Adam a STANDING OVATION. That doesn't happen. I don't know if it has ever happened before. Good Luck to Adam.

Ever wanted to meet new and intersting people?

Well here is your chance to meet the character of the world. I have tried this a couple times now and have never been let down by the type of people I was able to chat with. The first one had me hooked. You don't know them, they don't know who you are. You chat with "stranger" and it's hilarious the kind of people that are chatting on here. It is completely random. Try it....i had fun.

Tragedy at Home

I lived in Bridgeport for the better part of my life and this has to be one of worst things I have ever seen happen in my small hometown. Sgt. Randy White was killed yesterday in a police chase that ended in Bridgeport at the intersection of HWY 114 and FM 2123. DPS officers chased Stephen York from Decatur due to a hit and run he was involved in. York rammed Sgt. White's car (I believe it was purposely) which caused White's car to ram a large flat bed trailer that he had pulled over in a traffic stop. My heart goes out to Sgt. White's family. You are in my prayers.

Every woman's dream.....maybe

This sounds like something that would happen to me. It could have been worse though. Man proposes to girl....drops the ring onto the Brooklyn Bridge, where it falls into traffic...man jumps into traffic and finds ring...I am so glad that he found it, but man, that could have turned out bad.

More to say....

I'm sorry, but I have one more thing to say. Would people be so understanding if when Moats ran the red light he hit and killed someone crossing the intersection with the right of way? Probably not. Especially if it had been your family that was injured. Don't be so quick to judge someone that was protecting you.

WTF????

I have to say that I am completely disappointed in the Dallas Police Department. But not for the reason you may think. When I first decided to write this I thought that maybe the young officer could have been a little more understanding. THEN, I watched the dash cam video. I take it back. Kudos Officer Powell for doing your job. That man took and oath to uphold the law and although I may be alone, I believe that he did his job. I have to ask, would this have gotten the publicity it did if it had not involved an NFL player? Then I ask, could this have been avoided? Yes! Had the driver pulled over for the officer when he first put on his lights, chances are the officer might have even given them escort to the hospital. Now maybe I missed the part of driver's ed that says if you turn your flashers on, you can run red lights and stop signs and you don't have to stop for any police officer's that might not know why you're hauling through. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I missed that day. I don't feel that the officer did anything other that what his job entails. Who is this guy that he expects special treatment? My heart goes out to Moats and his family for their loss. I would never want to be in that situation.....BUT....next time, think about it. There is probably a better way.

Techno Crazy

Okay, so I finally started the blog, but I'm not really sure how inclined I am to be on the internet that much. A couple of weeks ago, my father asked me the other day why I haven't replied to accept him as a friend. I asked him to what he was referring and his reply was the cutest thing I've heard in a while. He was talking about...are u ready for it...his new "spacebook" account. Apparently my father has joined facebook. The following week he tells me he now has a twitter account. I have officially fallen behind my father in the technology world. Call me crazy, but considering that only two people...at the most...read this blog, I find it hard to believe that anyone would care what I am up to 24 hours a day. Maybe I'll break down and sign up...but I don't know.

Happy April Fool's Day!!
